Record Breakers Summer Trail

29 Jun - 8 Sep 2019
10:00-17:00

Free with museum admission

Take part in our Record Breakers themed family trail and discover the museum and historic airfield anew.

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Airship R.34's first transatlantic flight from East Fortune Airfield and pick up the Record Breakers trail to discover the record-breaking aircraft in our collection.

Discover the fastest passenger aircraft that ever flew and one of the slowest, see a low flying glider and an aircraft that was built in a house!

The Airship R.34 was stationed at East Fortune Airfield 100 years ago. On Wednesday 2 July 1919 it set off on the first direct return flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Discover R.34's story here.
