About Creative Workshop: Roman Pottery
Have a go at Roman pottery making, inspired by our current exhibition Roman Scotland: Life on the Edge of Empire.
The key to Roman pottery making was teamwork and in this workshop you will become one of the most important members of that team.
Master potter and ancient pottery specialist Graham Taylor will guide you step by step as you learn the skills and techniques of ancient Roman Pottery making and decorating. Then, working with a pot fresh from Graham's wheel, you will create your own replica pot that will be taken back to the Potted History workshop, fired, and returned to you.
Good to know
- No prior knowledge or experience of pottery making is required.
- Please meet at the Entrance Hall information desk 10 minutes before your workshop is due to start.
- Please note that separate tickets are required for each workshop you wish to attend.
