Engagement Trolley

Estimated dwell time: 10 – 15 minutes

Find out fascinating facts and hear surprising stories about our collections and get hands on with some of our favourite objects. Take part in a practical demonstration or have a go at a quick craft activity. 

The More You Know

Take a closer look at some of the Giants featured in our exhibition and find out how we’re always learning new things about the past. Head up to our Games Hub on level 4 of the Learning Centre for extra games and activities inspired by Giants.

Roman Aboot Scotland

Get excited for our upcoming Roman Scotland exhibition with a Roman-themed Find Out Friday. 

Rocks Rock! 

Location: Grand Gallery

When: 11 Sep, 13:30 - 16:00

Big rocks, wee rocks, colourful rocks, rocks that make you say “ooooh!”. Get hands-on with some of our favourite geological specimens.

Ancient Egypt

Location: Grand Gallery

Take a trip back in time and discover the daily lives of people in the past. (Time travel not included.) 

Go Wild

Location: Grand Gallery

When: 25 Sep, 13:30 - 16:00

Swim, climb or scurry along to learn all about animals. Discover fascinating facts about the animals we share our planet with. Then fly past our Games Hub on Level 4 of the Learning Centre for more animal inspired fun.

Games Hub  

Location: Learning Centre

When: 13:30 – 16:00 on the final Friday of the month

Visit the new Games Hub to enjoy some quiet time with historical and modern games. Have a go at different games and discover the different ways people around the world and throughout history have had fun. 

Game Hub activities will be announced along with our monthly Find Out Friday themes.
