Wartime Life Room

This teacher-led session takes place in our 1940s Wartime Life Room. Investigate the lives of an evacuee, a prisoner of war, a soldier and an ARP warden through objects, photos and letters. Then explore the museum galleries.

What will my pupils do in the workshop?

Pupils will investigate different aspects of the Second World War through the stories of four people and their possessions. An introduction from our learning team and notes on the objects to facilitate learning will be provided.

Length of session:

90mins (45 mins Wartime Life Room plus 45 mins Second World War Galleries). Please note the wartime Life Room has a maximum capacity of 20 people so larger groups will have to divide their time accordingly. 

Access: Please note the Education Room is located on the third floor with no lift access

10:30/12:30 (Check your booking for timings and arrive at the museum at least 15 minutes before the start of your workshop) 

Dates available:

Mondays in term time. Subject to availability.
