About Member Event: A Day in the Life of an Archaeologist

Celebrate the season with a festive performance by Edinburgh’s Voice of the Town choir, followed by our feature lecture, A Day in the Life of an Archaeologist. Enjoy beautiful music and gain fascinating insights into the world of archaeology, all in one special event.

Join Dr Rebecca Jones, Keeper of Scottish History and Archaeology, and Dr Hugo Anderson-Whymark, Senior Curator for Early Prehistory, to learn more about a day in the life of an archaeologist. In 2023, Hugo and Vicki Cummings from Cardiff University discovered a long-lost Neolithic Maes Howe-type tomb in Orkney. This Member exclusive talk will introduce you to the research that led to the discovery and update you on the fascinating discoveries that have been made in recent excavations.

Tickets for this in-person event are limited but the event will also be recorded for Members to watch online at a later date.
