About Audio Descriptive Tour: Giants

Join us after hours for an audio-described tour of the 'Giants' exhibition.

Discover life-sized 3D sculptures, skeletons and fossils in this immersive exhibition with audio descriptions and tactile opportunities.

The tour will last around one hour with a chance to explore the exhibition independently afterwards. 

On the day

  • Please note entry is via the Lothian Street entrance. 

Good to know

  • This tour is designed for people who are blind or partially sighted.
  • This tour will include tactile opportunities.

Accessibility and facilities

How to get to the space

You can get to the exhibition gallery by taking the escalator from the Collecting Stories gallery or the lifts in the Grand Gallery.  

The entrance doors to the gallery are not automatic. They can be opened by pulling them towards you.  

The exit doors to the gallery are not automatic. They can be opened by pushing them away from you.  

Wheelchair access

There is significant space to use a wheelchair in the exhibition. 

Some of the exhibition text is quite high so may be challenging to read for wheelchair users.

Seating

There are wooden benches throughout the exhibition.

Toilets and baby changing facilities

During this event, toilets will be available in the Level 1 South Atrium outside the Auditorium. There are standard toilets and an accessible toilet.  

Baby changing tables are in both the female and male toilets.  

If you require a changing places toilet, please ask a member of staff.
