Doll figure with conical wooden body covered with green, blue, black and red glass beads in geometric patterns over a layer of brown cloth, two white bead eyes and strands of beads to resemble hair, leather arms wrapped around with beads, originally carried by the bride during her wedding ceremony to signify her desire for children: Africa, Southern Africa, South Africa, Lesotho, Southern Sotho people, late 19th - early 20th century

Physical description

Doll figure with conical wooden body covered with glass beads of green, blue, black and red wrapped around the body in geometric patterns over a layer of brown cloth, the top of the body is carved to represent a head with face and two white bead eyes and strands of beads are attached to resemble hair; attached to each side of the body are arms of leather wrapped around with beads.
