Physical description

Woman's double breasted jacket, part of a suit with skirt in the same fabric (K.2010.94.282.1). Jacket made from mohair tweed, woven in space-dyed brushed mohair and wool yarns, in a twill weave structure, in yellow, green, blue-grey, dark blue, orange, red and medium and dark brown colours. Outer garment made from the same fabric as sample K.2010.94.47.11. Lined with purple-brown polyamide fabric. The outer fabric has been pieced together with machine stitching and hand stitched onto the lining fabric. Jacket features v neckline with large fold-down collar and lapels and a metal hanging loop attached at the neck. Shoulder pads, full length straight sleeves. Centre front fastening with four brown plastic buttons in double breasted style, attached to the garment interior with smaller transparent plastic buttons. Main body of garment extends to upper thigh in a fitted style with a slightly shaped hem and a spare button attached to the inside of the wearer's left front hem. Label on the inside neck embroidered with the inscription 'Bernat Klein SCOTLAND' in brown thread, secondary label embroidered with sizing '10' in black thread and third label printed with '58% MOHAIR 31% WOOL 11% POLYAMIDE' on the front and 'DRY CLEAN ONLY F MADE IN SCOTLAND' on the reverse.
