Assistant Curator, Renaissance and Early Modern History
Isabel Clanfield
Responsible for: Supporting curatorial activity across the Renaissance and Early Modern History section, in particular caring for collections and their documentation, responding to collections-based enquiries and supervising research access.
Research interests: Early modern witchcraft practices; Scottish Renaissance architecture.
Isabel joined the department in April 2026, following experience in collections management and historical research at Historic Environment Scotland, and previously as Assistant Curator at the V&A Wedgwood Collection. She holds an undergraduate degree in Archaeology and an MA in Museum and Artefact Studies from Durham University.
