NFA Special Funding Scheme 2023/24

The National Fund for Acquisitions Special Funding Scheme helps museums which are struggling to raise match funding for acquisitions.

Do you have an important acquisition in mind? Are you struggling to raise match funding to make an application to the National Fund for Acquisitions (NFA)? The National Fund for Acquisitions Special Funding Scheme considers applications for up to 100% funding.

There are no deadlines. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The scheme operates alongside NFA’s normal funding programme which will continue to consider applications for up to 50% of total purchase price for applicants who can raise match funding from their own or other funding sources.

Applications for funding under this special scheme must be discussed with NFA staff prior to submission, either by telephone or email. All applications must be submitted on the regular NFA application form which should be emailed to nfa@nms.ac.uk. In addition, applicants must complete a short supplementary form (available on request) setting out their organisation’s funding position in relation to acquisitions for their collection and any other funding sources which may be available to them.
