About Museum Late: Festival Ceilidh

Our sell out Festival Ceilidh makes a stomping return this August. Grab your pals for a night of reels and revelry and join the party in Scottish style.

The fantastic Jacobites Ceilidh Band will get you twirling and birling through Strip the Willow, Dashing White Sergeant and other traditional dances in one of Scotland’s biggest ceilidhs. Set in the museum’s majestic Grand Gallery, all dances are suitable for beginners with no previous experience necessary - our caller will guide you through the steps on the night.

Between dances enjoy drinks, food, activities and explore a selection of the museum galleries at night.

It’s big, it’s busy, it’s braw!

The night will include

  • Ceilidh in the Grand Gallery
  • Scottish themed craft and dress up
  • A demonstration of the Great Kilt by Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers
  • Silent Disco and Karaoke
  • Pay bars, plus food and drink available in our Museum Kitchen - open from 6.30pm
  • Access to a selection of our galleries

Cloakroom
