About Centre for Open Learning: Colour in Science and Nature

The University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Open Learning invites you to take your learning beyond the classroom.

Using the remarkable collections at the National Museum of Scotland you will explore colour in science and nature. By focusing on topics such as camouflage and attraction, uncover the scientific principles behind different colours and consider the ongoing influence of colour in nature.

Discover how colours found in nature have historically inspired creative individuals and continue to do so today. Then investigate how scientific advancements help us better understand our surroundings, with colour serving as a key element in this exploration.

This course is led by Karen A Clulow BA MA FSA Scot.
