Yellowish brown limestone, extremely rich in living forms of littoral Lamellibranch and Gastropod molluscs, from Leghorn, (Livorno), Tuscany, Italy. Forms extensive strata near the present coastline, nearly horizontal, known as Panchina. This stone is very extensively employed at Leghorn (Livorno) for making the sea wall, quays, etc. and is very durable.
