The National Museum of Scotland has become the first museum or gallery in Scotland available for exploration online via Google Arts & Culture’s Museum View experience.

Our Museum’s galleries have been captured digitally in partnership with Google Arts & Culture, which works with institutions around the world to make cultural and historical material accessible online.

We join the Taj Mahal, the Uffizi and the Palace of Versailles, among others, in offering people the opportunity to explore its interior virtually.

Take a stroll around our Museum

Move through our permanent galleries at the click of a button, viewing around 20,000 objects on display.

Explore further on Google Arts & Culture

In addition to making our galleries accessible for everyone to explore online, over 1,000 objects from the national collection have been added to the Google Arts & Culture online collection. Find out more about individual objects or explore themes including Scotland’s Early Silver or the archive of Scottish fashion designer Jean Muir.
