Common Cause on film

Our Common Cause exhibition explored the war experiences of soldiers of Scottish descent from the nations of the Commonwealth during the First World War. See films from the exhibition and find out how Scottish traditions have survived in regiments around the world today.

Scottish regiments around the world

In the first in a series of short films about Scottish regiments today, Major Peter Amyes, Executive Officer, Otago and Scotland Company, discusses what Scottish traditions mean to his regiment in New Zealand.

In our second film, Captain Dr Lionel Boxer CD KCSJ of the 5th/6th Battalion, Royal Victoria Regiment, explains what Scottish regimental traditions mean to him.

In our final film, Captain Tyler Wentzell of the 48th Highlanders explains how Scottish traditions persist in Canada, and how the First World War is remembered.
