Description

Clay altarpiece on a circular base topped with a group of figures including a male chief with a fan and horn, flanked by two female figures with elaborate hairstyles holding fans, a smaller attendant and a chicken, produced for the altar dedicated to the Igbo Yam god: Africa, West Africa, Nigeria, Aboh, Osisa village, Kwale Igbo people, late 19th to early 20th century
