Cap, woman's, of brocaded silk with a design by Mu'in Musawwir of lobed medallions with a woman braiding her hair, intersected by a Persian inscription including the date AH 11 Sha'ban 1056 (CE 21 September 1646): West Asia, Iran, Safavid, 1646 - 1650

Physical description

Off white silk fabric, brocaded, motif in rust, green and black against an apricot background; lined with a fabric (velvet?) with saz style pattern; this is rather worn, a woven band as border.
