Description

Sample of dyed and printed cotton cloth, a handkerchief design with a dog's head in border and a filling of smaller dog's heads in profile, the white areas were produced by the lead plate discharge technique, these were then overprinted with the black detail, part of the Turkey Red Collection: Scottish, Dunbartonshire, by John Orr Ewing and Co., c. 1866
