Description

Sample of dyed and printed cotton cloth showing a handkerchief design with a horses's head in border and a filling of small horse shoes in circular motifs, the white areas of the pattern were produced by the lead plate discharge process and these were then overprinted with black detail, part of the Turkey Red Collection: Scottish, Dunbartonshire, by John Orr Ewing and Co., pre 1866
