Sample of dyed and printed cotton cloth showing a section of a handkerchief design with a floral and foliate border and floral sprigs and decorated squares in the filling, the white areas of the pattern were produced by the lead plate discharge process, then the black detail was overprinted with copper plate, part of the Turkey Red Collection: Scottish, Dunbartonshire, by John Orr Ewing and Co., pre 1866
