About Member Event: Monkeys Family Fun

Join us for an afternoon of monkey-themed family fun. Starting with a child-friendly talk by guest speaker Jaima Smith, Community and Discovery Officer at Edinburgh Zoo, you will discover more about the life of primates. Then put your knowledge to the test in our monkey-themed quiz.

Finally, round off the afternoon with a children’s costume competition. Kids can come along on the day dressed up as their favourite primate to be in with the chance of winning some fantastic prizes, including a whole year of National Museum Scotland Family Membership, an animal adoption at ‘cub’ level for chimps or squirrel monkeys at Edinburgh Zoo and more.

Our speaker

Jaima Smith is a biological anthropologist with extensive experience of working with primates both in rescue centres and in the wild. In her role as Community and Discovery Officer at Edinburgh Zoo, she loves being able to share her passion and knowledge with people every day, especially when she gets to talk about monkeys and apes.
