Join us as we kick off the 2024 Edinburgh International Children’s Festival with a day of free pop-up performances and activities for the whole family.

At our Festival Family Encounters Day, enjoy exciting new performances and interactive experiences from local artists, pop-up theatre and dance shows, walk-about character actors and plenty of hands-on family activities.

The full event programme will be published in early May.

The 2024 Edinburgh International Children’s Festival runs 25 May–2 June in venues across Edinburgh. The Festival aims to push the boundaries of what is expected of children’s theatre and dance, exploring timely themes in joyful, exciting and accessible ways.
