The simple helmet, a close-fitting iron cap sheathed in bronze, has a deep neck guard with a projecting rim on which traces of metal sheathing are preserved. The hinge plates for the cheekpieces survive, although the cheekpieces do not. Further fittings attached to other holes in the helmet
