Model hunting bag, of netted babiche with tanned caribou side sections and upper edge, decorated with horizontal bands of red and blue pigment, and skin thongs ornamented with blue and yellow quill wrapping and red and blue wool tassels: North America, Canada, Northwest Territories, Tłı̨chǫ, c. 1862

Physical description

Netted babiche hunting bag with tanned caribou skin side sections and upper edge; decorated with horizontal bands of red and blue pigment, and skin thongs ornamented with blue and yellow quill wrapping and red and blue wool tassels; top edge is worked with red, blue, purple and white porcupine quills, with babiche loops, painted with red pigment, for attaching a carrying strap.
