Jambiya

Description

Jambiya or dagger with curved, twin channelled watered steel blade decorated on each face at the forte with a lobed half-cartouche and a smaller full cartouche depicting gold damascened inscriptions, and ivory handle carved on obverse with a regal figure and bands of inscriptions: Middle East, Iran, 17th century
