Wakizashi

Description

Long companion sword (wakizashi) mounted in the Goto style with han-tachi (half-tachi) mounts of shakudo decorated with flowers in gold, kozuka similarly decorated, and sheath of lacquered wood: Japan, Edo, blade by Yasutsugu, mounts by Mitsunaka, early 17th century
