The Canberra was the first Royal Air Force bomber powered by jet engines.

At the National Museum of Flight we have the nose section of a Canberra.

On 26 August 1952 the aircraft this nose section comes from flew from Northern Ireland to Canada and back. The flight took a total time of 10 hours 3 minutes 29.28 seconds, a new transatlantic record at the time.
